Neurapas®
First things first: The proven active ingredients in our popular herbal medicine Neurapas® balance remain unchanged. The three herbal extracts continue to contribute their individual effects to the product: St. John's wort has a mood-lifting effect, passionflower is relaxing and valerian is calming. In the production of herbal medicines such as Neurapas® balance, excipients are required to ensure, among other things, that the herbal extracts remain consistently effective and stable over a long shelf life. Titanium dioxide was a component of the complex tablet coating, which is necessary to ensure the stability of the natural active ingredients. With concentrated herbal extracts, it is surprisingly difficult to ensure that the required amount of active ingredient is still available at the end of the shelf life. We are constantly looking for optimal solutions that meet our high standards for naturalness and quality. We have made a change in Neurapas® balance and removed titanium dioxide. What sounds simple at first glance actually involves a rather complex conversion process. If an ingredient is removed from a formula, the production process must be adjusted. The stability of the modified medicine must be proven throughout its shelf life – in the case of Neurapas® balance, this is 2 years. The change in the formula affects not only the composition of the tablet, but also its color: Due to the removal of titanium dioxide, the blue color of the Neurapas tablets is significantly darker. The Neurapas tablets are therefore now dark blue instead of the previous light blue. The quality, efficacy and safety of the product, of course, remain completely unchanged. In addition, the responsible federal authority in Germany, the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), must officially approve the new formula and production process after thoroughly examining their safety and efficacy. All this is necessary so that you, as our customer, can continue to hold in your hands an equally effective and safe product. In Germany, titanium dioxide remains an approved excipient in the production of pharmaceuticals and foods. It is found, for example, in almost every chewing gum. However, this does not prevent us from constantly looking for improvements and removing this substance from our medicines. Neurapas® balance is leading this development; All other products currently containing titanium dioxide will soon follow. We are very pleased to continue to offer you an effective and safe herbal medicine that optimally meets our high standards for quality, safety and naturalness.
